It is diagnostic connector, but you need to have a scan tool that interfaces with it. I cant rememeber what its called, but the tool has several, color coded wires, and it tells you which number to hook them up to. dont know if you can trick it into doing anything else, but you should check out the mbworld.com forums. lots of good info there.
