    Mounting screen on a civic

i'm sure most of you have seen the new civics dash shape ...

my question is, do any of the touchscreen moniters on mp3car have stands whose bases will stand nicely on the curve on the dash ?? kinda like a flexible plastic base with legs that adjust to the dash shape ???

also, is there any store in NY where i can check out these kind of screens before dishout out the money on any one of them online ????

    any help is appreciated !

    thanks

I havent seen any screens that adjust to the dash...

The screen I have is the lilliput 619 gl from the mp3car store. It was only $250 and it works great.

Instead of setting it on top your dash, mold it into your dash, or get a flip-out. Or the new doublesin from digitalww althought the last one is a tad pricey.

If you just stick it onto your dash, it will probably fall off because that sticky tape they use isn't very strong. You will need to drill holes into your dash, so then you can just adjust the screws with nuts or something to make it level if you want it ontop.

THe only way to not hack away your car is getting a fold up or the doubledin and a metra kit. Otherwise, welcome to bondo.

Well I don't think they make them specifically for screens. But the screw part on the screen (at least on mine) is the same threading as on a camera. Maybe they make some camera mount or something. Or maybe some of those PDA holders that suction on to the window and clamp down on the PDA. Or you can try to make your own by buying the suction cup part and a cheap tripod, and take that screw part off, and glue it on.
