Throwing a box in the car.

Okay, these carputer thingys look kind of interesting. So i decided last week that ill get a system for me. Well i cost me 40 euros and i got my machine running in garage. Now i need to save some cash to get a good touch screen and inverter and finally its ready for install.

Okay, for the stuff i got for the PC.

    im going for the minium:

AMD Athlon (Thunderbird love this series<3) 1000Mhz
    512mb DDR 400mhz (working for 233 )
Some ****ty Ati Excalibur 9600XT that i got for way too cheap
    40gb HD
    10/100 ethernet card (PCI)
Motherboard MSI K7 (if i remember correctly...)

The thing that worries me is the PSU... what would be the cheapest and most working way to get enough power for that... I have my cig lighter, and i think i would go for inverter, but can i use inverter and after that normal ATX psu ;/ that would be neat...

    anyways, heres some pics :O

ps. dont mind my english, read where i live, thanks

An invertwer would be the cheapest way to power it. It would certainly go with the kluugy theme.

Yeah seems like people is getting it Ghetto box hahaha.....

but throw some ideas can i hold on with 150W inverter. If i use that normal PSU it takes 250W (so it reads T_T), but as far i know it really doesnt take that much of power... or is it more matter of V's than W's...

    im confused

Oh! to throw more **** in the well... i would really need better PSU, for future there would be 2 monitors... one 8" touch screen and some other screen for the back seats (not touch) but anyway, i would go for 2x 150W PSU the other inverter to throw power for my comp and other for monitors

    ideas people!

I got it and am desperately trying to get rid of it!

The general rule of thumb is to use an inverter rated for 1.5-2 times the PSU rating.

Okay i found a huge loads of inverters from one of finlands shops... and i can order it online from there....

does it sound good for my buildings, 300W inverter can last 350W for 30mins and haves gap of 600W for boot.

it goes for 37 euros, how about it. Maybe it haves enough power to power up my monitors

btw, people whos saying there isnt enough big inverters.... theres one with 3KW :O

:EDIT: Found 300W inverter for 30 euros now.

your monitors will be running off the car battery, so don't factor those in your inverter calculations.
