to answer 2 of your questions (the only 2 that I saw)


1) Will I be able to have my head unit and computer connected to the car stereo?
Short answer, yes. Long answer. If they fit. You are trying to put 2 things in where 1 is right now. So you might have to do some cutting/forming to get both your lilli monitor and car stereo to be in at the same time. I have both in my Dodge Ram. They make converters for stock head units for an axillary input. The sound from the PC will plug into this converter and the converter plugs into your stock head unit giving you sound from your PC into your stock stereo.

2) If you do as described in option 1, you wont need an amp. Your stock head unit has an amp(s) already built in. If you find that you dont have room for both the lilliput unit and your stock head unit, then you might chose to remove the factory head unit altogether, in which case then you would need amps.

if by "Will I be able to have my head unit and computer connected to the car stereo?" you mean connect the carputer to the cars stock head unit (radio), then reread my post. I think you are just confusing yourself.

The diagram I posted is how i have mine. It works perfectly. and as you asked your question, it looks like you were asking if you could hook it up that way.

I think you are mixing up terms though. A head unit can be the lilliput or the stock radio. remove the ambiguity.

I understand yours. BUT. The problem is that my stock unit is removed. My screen is a headunit with a screen in it.

There is no stock unit involved and this new head unit is not just a head unit but it is the screen. So in your diagram I don't think you can have HU and Monitor as difference hardwares in the diagram. You could also be right, I might just be confusing myself. xD

do you mean the stereo head unit that came with the car, or the speakers or ???? I think you just mean speakers from what i'm reading now

The stereo HU that came with the car is out of the picture. In the trash bcz it sucks. Here is a reattempt at this whole thread:

Alright, I am starting with a Honda Civic entirely stock. Stock HU as well.

I am going to BUY a lilliput HU w/ in-dash motorized screen. This HU has radio and everything.

I will take out the STOCK HU put in the Lilliput HU (stock HU is nonexistent)

The wires that were plugged in STOCK will be plugged in the LILLIPUT

The lilliput I think will now be connected to my car AMP and speakers... correct? Assuming that I took all wires that were plugged into Stock HU and put them into the lilliput

The lilliput has RCA outlets at the back. I will SOMEHOW (part of my question is how to do this) take my computer sound and video cards and connect them to the RCA outlet in the back of the lilliput. This way the computer runs as an AUX mode on my lilliput. I am HOPING (another part of my question) that since I am using RCA (Audio outlets) that my from the computer will go the the HU when in AUX mode (PC). This way when I play a song on my PC, it will go into the Lilliput AUX mode and that will be connected to Car AMP connected to speakers so my sound would be set and working...

am i correct or is there something seriously wrong with my theory? I know commonly that PC are connected thru VGA input at the back of lilliput. But I want to use RCA so I do not need to worry about hooking my PC to the car AMP. Also, will this cause a lack of sound quality?

It has been speculated above and confirmed by my research that my lilliput does have an Amp built in it, when I get 12" dual subs in the trunk later, will I be able to connect a new and bigger Amp?

Now, you might want to list what year civic. I'm not sure if honda uses Canbus or not. I'm not sure about Honda wiring at all for that matter, as I drive strictly domestics. So wiring up the lilli to the stock speakers could be as easy as going to a local stereo shop or walmart and buying a standard converter kit and wiring it up, or much more complicated than that.

To answer some of your questions

your adding a sub later question, you'll need a preamp out for that. which the PC is. Or you could low level line convert your then existing rears, as I dont think that lilli unit has preamp out, only amped out IIRC.


You are going to want to hook up via VGA. Dont go RCA. the resolution will be too low.


read more. lots more. search on your car. see how others have hooked theirs up. that should answer your wiring question as well as others.
