Yes, the 294 is the super screen. It says 294 on the box I got.
I have one of these and there are some drawbacks.
I'll start with the pros:
cheap, cheap, cheap, preatty bright display, number of inputs, the power regulator is built in, so its supposedly designed to work off of an unregulated 12 volt supply (10-16 volts if I recall) although I went ahead and hooked it into my carnetix p1900 psu
Cons:
1. odd native resolution (something strange like 720x480) which almost no video cards support. . .this forces you to accept one of 2 things, low resolution 16:9 (works for me) or a higher resolution 4:3 aspect ratio which distorts your dvds and pictures.
2. how do I put this? It only starts if you start from a cold boot (must go through post). this means it (at least mine) doesn't work well with standby mode. Also, it gets confused it the resolution and timing gets changed on it too fast (startup b/w post and going into the xp boot screen).
3. low native resolution (see above)
4. lacks bells and whistles of xenarc and lilliput such as switch to rear when in reverse (I believe this is a feature I remember reading about), higher native resolutions, etc.
All in all, I believe it was a good value for the money, but it has some tradeoffs if you are willing to live with them. I don't really regret the purchase as it saved me several hundred dollars, but I would like to have a nice xenarc one day. It definitely doesn't ooze quality.

I got one of these as a christmas gift, and I've gotta say that I've been impressed with it so far. It's not a Lilliput or a Xenarc by any means, but it's an awesome LCD for the price. The resolution thing is the only bad thing I've seen about it, but if you set it to a little higher resolution 16:9 and have a frontend that has nice pretty big buttons (e.g. Centrafuse), you won't have a problem. Mine has worked great so far.
Hey guys i have a question..it seems its draining my car when i plug it to the cig adaptor ....can i hook this or t-tap it directly to my headunit?...how do i tell which is the + and - one is black and one wire is black with a white line through it. Do i need to find the wire thats just the 12v source...also does this mean i need to make a relay inorder for it to turn off when the car turns off. Please let me know
thanks
Jason
my carputer isnt connected...my car randomly died today and the only thing plugged in was the monitor....that cig adaptor for bmws i think stays on all the time?
ya it does, as long as something is plugged in.. i will be starting my project soon, so far from the information i ahve gathered, everyone has been tapping into the ignition wire for power source for the pc/monitor.. that way it goes on when car is on.. maybe u should look into that method ??
