    Firewire motherboard connector??

    Am I missing something?

The motherboard connector looks like this:

    The plug looks like this:

A quick look on the interweb indicates that the motherboard is okay, the plug is not (e.g. see pic with light red background...)

Can anyone confirm this. The motherboard is a Jetway J7F2 and the case is a Travla C138.

    Cheers

    Adam.

Edited to add: duh... got male & female connections pix labelled incorrectly..

I had that with mine but it was a different board and case. My plug wasn't moulded closed tho so I just swaped things around and got it to work

    Solved it...

The connector is not the right type but I have purchased some components from www.frontx.com and plan to rewire it with the right connector.

Cheap as chips.. a new connector is costing me £1.20 and is being posted free from malaysia!

    Bonkers

I found a solution from www.frontx.com. I bought the connector and will re-wire the cable with this so it fits the motherboard.

It's cheap as chips... the whole lot cost me £1.50 and postage is free!

    Bonkers.
