how talented are you at fabrication? can you work with metal and fiberglass? how about electronics? can you solder ic's? if you can do that stuff.. it could be possible. let us know where you stand and then maybe we can help some...probably the wrong forum to be asking this question though...so put on your flame suit.

You will need a wind tunnel

You could probably get away without a wind tunnel, but regardless, for it to function properly (and not just for looks), it's kind of a big project.

I wouldn't discourage you, that's how people learn stuff, not knowing any better than to even consider it.

It involves fabrication, some engineering, a decent understanding of aerodynamics, some electronics. All in all, a very long, possibly fruitful, and likely expensive and frustrating project.

You might want to grab a subscription to autospeed.com, pretty cheap and well worth it. They do articles on stuff like decreasing drag, custom valances and other stuff that's in this ball park. (Separating ABS from traction for instance), they also have a lot of electronics projects.

I can almost guarentee that the car he has doesn't need a motorized wing to keep stable on the ground. Therefore it will all be for looks.

But we still need to know your experience for what scott asked...

That is simple, front wheel cars have little benefit to rear mounted wings that add downforce to the rear of the car.
