Thread: 2007 Nitro

Did some searching but was unable to get the answers I was looking for, so I'm here asking for help. Just purchased a 2007 Nitro. Awesome vehicle.

Anyways, the stereo has an aux input jack on the front. My first mod is I want to move this jack to the back of the headunit so it is hidden. Any help on this would be appreciated. I do have a background in automotive electrical so I should be able to handle the mod. I want use an iPod for music and video storage. The vehicle has a 110v outlet that I want to tap into (again hidden) and use a Ipod dock with a remote.

I want to remove the iPod docks IR for the remote unless its an RF remote and mount insight somewhere in the center stack of the dash. Products that I've looked at are DLO's Homedock. The iPod/dock would be installed hidden in the center console.

Lastly, I want to install an LCD screen similar to the one shown in the attached pic. It's a pic of the concept interior of the Nitro, but is pretty much identical in production. With the remote and screen used to access the iPod. I don't own an iPod and not familiar with its functions, so here are my questions.

Does and iPod export it menus and would I be able to access them with the remote for both audio and video and see them on the LCD mounted on the dash? I want to be able to navigate the menus just like you would if the iPod were in your hand. Thanks.
