That PSU will be overkill for your setup. It will however, come in handy if/when you choose to updgrade the system.

Why do you need three DVD drives? Or do you just have those lying around and can use one?

For bluetooth connectivity, you need a bluetooth adapter.
For OBD, you need an OBD connector and software.

Other than that it looks like you have a good idea of what you're doing and how to accomplish it.

then get this board - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138262

or get a board for the p3 cpu??

And have you considered how you'll power that beastie of a processor?

I think that would be easier, depending on your intentions for powering the system.

Powering the system propwerly is crucial to the stability of the setup. If you go half-assed on powering the system, you'll have problems down the road, guaranteed.

the last link isn't working...which PSU is it you are looking at?

Powering a P4 isn't going to be an easy task...not to mention the heat issue...how are you going to keep it cool? Where do you live?

    The link is bad...
Do you mean the DSATX? The Opus 250w PSU? The new Carnetix unit?

NM. I looked it up. It's the Opus 250w unit.
Yes, it will power it, more than likely. however, you're also looking at heat issues, not only w/ the PSU, but the CPU itself. You're also reducing the amount of power you have available for other devices. Considering that the CPU you have in mind sucks 80 or 89w (depending on the core), you're using up a huge chunk of the 120w the PSU available on the 12v rail.
That limits the number of other 12v accessories you may want/need powered by the 12v from the PSU. This would include a full-size optical drive, an LCD screen, relay boards, etc.

I'm not saying that it won't work. I'm saying that your CPU choice limits your capabilities pretty significantly.

yea, I was gonna put the 3.0 P4 in my desktop and switch it with the one in it a P4 2.4c northwood cpu, but the P4 3 doesnt fit in the socket, i guess because its a prescott?. If I have to then I will use a regular psu and an inverter.

but yea, just odered the board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138262

and planning on getting a lilliput screen, already have extra HD's and a optical drive.
