well im starting to get everything I need for my ca pc project, but have a question on how to hook up the sound from the pc....
k, I wanted to know if I could use my headunit that I have now, because it has an aux in-put which is a dolby suround pro logic 2... What would I need to do this? just Y-RCA's?

You can use the line out from a sound card. It works, but you run the risk of a loud "thump" when the system turns on. My friend has his setup this way, and doesnt get a thump tho.
On my setup, Im using a USB DAC (digital audio converter), which does not kick in until windows starts, so there is no thump. It also puts out a pretty good voltage to the sound quality is very good.
PhilMayfield - thanks, ill try the convert, but im gonna try just useing the line out hope fully there is no thump.... also, does your friend control the volume through his headunit?
You will almost certainly need a ground loop breaker - they take 2 RCAs in and 2 RCAs out and it will clean up the hum caused by dissimilar grounds. Most car radio stores sell them - between $10 and $30.
