First off, hello everyone here. I am new to the carpc forums, and I have been browsing through articles here for the last few days learning as much as I can. I work in the IT field and have bunch of computer parts lying around, plenty for buiolding a carpc. My question lies in this: From what I understand, I have to run from my soundcard straight out to my amp, and then out to my speakers, not to my headunit. I am using a sony headunit thats only a couple of month old. It has 2 sets of audio out plugs, one pair of wires for sub, and one labeled BUS in. I have a 2001 mustang gt with mach 460 sound system, so I bought a special adapter (the metra harness) to connect my stock amps and speakers, so that uses one set of the audio out rca plugs. I then have my aftermarket amp connected to the sub wires, so that leaves one set of audio out rcas and the bus in open. Does anyone know if I can connect my soundcard out rcas to the factory installed mach amps? I know the set up on the mach amps is different, I think they are set up in parrallel or something weird (hence the special metra harness) Or is there a way (preferrably) I can connect the soundcard to the headunit I have?
...I love the French language...especially to curse with...Nom de Dieu de putain de bordel de merde de saloperies de connards d'enculés de ta mère. You see, it's like wiping your *** with silk, I love it.
Had to go look it up to see. It has an Aux Lite input according to the specs on it. The plug for it looks almost like a mouse or keyboard port plug.
Awsome! Thanks guys, time to search for the adapter then I suppose!
OK, I found the schematic to my headunit finally. It's a sony cdx-ra700. It has one set of auxilary inputs, a white rca and a red rca. There is an adapter you can buy for the aux lite input, which allows three inputs. The thing is, they are also only one red and one white per item.
So the question is, if I get a 1/8 adapter to two rca cables and plug those into the inputs, will all the speakers play the music or only a couple of them?
NM, the reason I was only gettring the fron or rear speakers to play with the splitter I had was cause my wife bought me a mono one at radioshack. Got a new one today and it is working fine on all peakers now.
