    LCD location?? First CarPC

So I'm looking to do my first car PC. I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota that I want to put it in. But I'm at a loss as to where I can put a LCD. I was going to go with a in-dash unit, but I've been reading a lot of bad things about them.

I've attached a picture here that you can see how the dash is setup. There doesn't really seem to be a good place for one. I'm not that good with fabrication so I don't know if I could cut the dash up right, and I'm not sure if there is room to actually do it.

Looking for some advice as to what you guys think?

    Thanks,
    Shane

looks like there's room there where the stock radio is if you're willing to remove it and fabricate a new bezel...

there's a ton of how-tos on here on how-to fabricate as well as a lot of helpful people.

Not sure I want to go that way. I just don't think I can do it right myself.

well then, you're in for an even more difficult job trying to install it period.

Unless you're going with one of those ghetto arms I've seen around.

Does the 05 Dak come with a DVD/NAV option? If so, you can buy an OEM replacement bezel.

Its not a option for one. They had a option but it was a unit that sat on top of the dash.

Ya dude, just give up. It seems like you have your mind set on doing it a certain way, you just don't know which way that is. We give you advice, and I understand that you don't want to hack your dash up, BUT, the options are Replacing the HU with an in dash unit, which you say you don't want to do, hack the center console, again you don't want to do that, using the stock Navi bezel, you don't want to do that cause it is too high, using some sort of arm, well, seems you don't want to do that either. What else do you think is left?
