    Getting started: Linux Frontend

Ok, so I did a forum search for keyword Linux, maybe not exhaustive, but I tried. So I'm a forum N00b. No actual carPC yet (need money). However, I figure in the meantime, I'd like to try my hand at making my own Linux-based frontend as I haven't seen one yet. Maybe I'm posting in the wrong place altogether...but I want to make a Linux based frontend for a carPC. I'm hoping to skip past unneccessary tutorials and find something for programming/drawing your own GUI in Linux. If anyone has any ideas, pls let me know...

There's a whole forum devoted to Linux. Not sure how you missed it, but we'll pretend that didn't happen, since it's Christmas (or pick some other holiday or nice reason).

    Cheers,
