I just finished building my carputer and am reasonably sure that the insides are all properly assembled as this is far from my first that I've assembled. My problem comes when I try to hook the PC to both an AC-DC converter (12V, 1A) and a car battery I get no power up. Instead I am getting a flash code on the diagnostic LED that corresponds with voltage that is out of normal voltage range or a faulty DC-DC power supply.

I have the correct connections for the positive and negative going to the PSU and have the ACC wire grounded to the case.

Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong? Could the PSU be faulty or am I missing something?

    Thanks,

    Jim
Hey sorry I cant help with your prob, but do you keep the inverter in the trunk or in the car somewhere under the seat? Also, you said you've done these before. Are there any major downsides to using an inverter rather than a DC-DC PSU?

Don't threadjack, and search the FAQ's for your inverter questions. Inverter is a no-no for a short answer. Read the FAQ to figure out why.

Dude, start your own thread with your own questions. Sneaking in a completely different question in somene else's quest for information and assistance is poor etiquette in general.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
