Thread: New to the carputer scene and a few questions...

Hey everyone, I'm new to the carputer scene and it seems really cool. I work with computers at my job and thats why I want to put one in my car, hehe.

Anyway I have a few concerns and questions about this process.

I know that you have to hook the computer (in my case, a mac mini) to your car battery. How much juice will the computer suck out of the battery? Thats my main concern, cause if its too much I'm not even gonna do it. I tried searching for it and either its not here on the forums, or i over looked it. sorry...hehe..


Secondly, I'm pretty sure you all will laugh, but the car that I want to do this to is not officially mine. Its my parents and they dont want me doing anything major to this car. (it will be mine in about 1.5 years). For the ones who have done this already...is it a difficult process? Keep in mind I know a good bit on the computer part, not so much on the car part. But I have a good number of car knowledge through friends.
