I know you can plug a cf card to ide with an adapter, but can you got the other way? this board comes with cf connector build in, but i want to plug in a 44 pin hard drive. any ideas?

I'd say no.. From a quick check on google, it seems like it'd be only the other way around.. I will have to admit, it seems logical that you'd want to do that.. BUT, I don't think there's enough market for any manufacturer to actually produce such an item.
Your mobo doesn't come with an IDE/SATA connector? If you use it as a 2nd drive, USB is another option.
