    quick cooling question

right now i'm planning out a system with a core 2 duo mobile (merom) processor, and i'm a little concerned with how i'm gonna cool the thing. do most mobos come with a heatsink/fan, or do i have to buy one seperately? also, if there's a better option than using a fan/heatsink, let me know. thanks!

Heatsink/fan combos are either purchased with the CPU (is you purchase retail box) or seperately (if you purchase the CPU used or in OEM packaging).
I've never seen a motherboard include a HSF combo.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

heatsink and fan is your best option. however stock oem may not be enough depending on your setup.

    What sort of board?
what GHZ is the Dual core?
    What sort of Car?
Where is the computer going to be fixed in the car?

answer all that ill tell you what you need

i know most mobos dont come with heatsink/fans, but some of the ones i saw were pictured with a heatsink/fan.

ideal motherboard: iGoLogic Inc MBI3899-F Socket 478 Intel 945GM

processor: boxed intel core 2 duo 1.83 GHz, does NOT include heatsink/fan, which is why im here in the first place lol.

car: 1997 Lexus ES 300 either in replacement of the 6 disc changer in the glove box or under the passenger seat.

You should be fine with a generic heatsink/fan on a core 2 duo.
My Sempron 3300+ ran without an issue with just the stock fan and one case fan, in 38 celcius heat last week, probably would have been closer to 50 celcius inside the car!

Pretty certain the C2D's run cooler than a Sempron too

Should be the same as the normal Socket 775 processors I'd say.
