Can you give me a link to the HU that you purchased?

    NOT .

It is possible although it may not be a great jump in quality (if at all. and audiophiles hate the idea) it will enable you to get a bigger amp and therefore speakers.

If you have already upgraded the HU and haven't upgraded the speakers when you did, it might be worth while putting some decent upgraded speakers in first, you never know you might have a decent output from the radio/HU but are being let down by the speakers.

Anyway post some pic's of this install and more info on the upgraded HU.

    Cheers.

But have you considered a USB soundcard? Relatively quick and cheap. Dramatic quality improvement for little money.

    eh? No.

Using a line level converter is just not a smart idea...no matter if you are an audiophile or not...it's a poor solution to the problem.

I'd equate it to using sticks to solve a higher math problem...it's a super poor way to find the solution to the problem.

Well, when I bought my van, it came with an old headunit connected to an amp by the speaker lines. There were a couple of widgets in between the head unit and amp that appear adjust the line levels. The widgets had pots that you use to adjust the output to the amp. Buggered if I can remember what the widgets are called. I think they sell them in Maplin though.

Now I just run the carpc straight to the amp.

I live just down the road in Reading. Reckon the other half would love your cab, being a fan of Lucky Voice.

That's the chap. Seems not a good idea though. When you're in a noisy '68 van though, good sound quality is somewhat wasted anyway...

No, I'd equate it to using an inverter to supply power for a carPC.

ops that's what I'm still doing at the moment.

Note to self : must get those PC's changed over.
