Saab 9-3 antenna disable

Anyone know how to disable the automatic radio antenna on a Saab 9-3 (2001); I would like it to stay retracted for less interference with my FM transmitter... Thanks!!

Though it is fairly specific to each car, for the most part, you need to access the panel just below/behind the antenna. There is a motor there, with positive and negative wires for power. Just disconnect the power wires, they most likely have a connector that you can just pull off.

Thanks. I'll see what I can do. Hopefully the car won't fall apart like at the end of The Blues Brothers.

There is sometimes another way to stop the power antenna. On my car, for instance, the head unit has a wire that tells the antenna to come out. Your car might have this wire too. If it does, just pull out your HU, clip the wire, tape it up, and presto-change o, no more antenna.
