Go here. You can probably find them in the "pads and tapes" section. Of course, you could do what I always wanted to do and simply shock mount the entire computer using some of those cool silicone gel mounts.
So where do you guys buy these little shock absorbers for hard drives? I have seen them as part of Voom but not on sale separately.

Thanks for the link!
Can't shock absorb the whole system at once since it's an in-dash install with parts (board, HDD, M1) all spread out. I am still looking for a good way to mount the board though since there are no good anchor points nearby. Maybe some filler foam will keep it in place :-/
hopefully nonconductive filler foam! And you don't need to worry about shock. Mount them stiffly and be done with it. If you think you will be going 4x4ing or something where you need lots and lots of shock protection mount the drive vertically so the platters are perpendicular to the ground as opposed to parallel. The force require to kill a drive because of shock is greater than what you as a human can withstand. Now if you are always going over big bumps, no shock protection will stop the head from slamming into the platter and that can cause disk failure, so you mount it vertically, so you just get a temporary read error that pauses your music for a millisecond instead of a permanent bad sector that destroys the drive.

ditto on not needing to worry about shock mounting. I've had a system in the car pretty much solid for 3 years and never once had a HDD fail or parts fail. I've mounted everything rigid in the car too.

Somewhere I read that occasional hard bumps won't kill your HDD but low frequency vibrations might. Not sure if that was on Hitachi's site..hmm
Rubber mounts don't attenuate low frequency vibes nearly as well as they do attenuate high frequency vibes. The main purpose of those mounts would be for a quieter overall system. So, I think the rubber parts mentioned in OP, would be more correctly called, sound isolation mounts.
