    New Purchase Questions:

Alright. I am ready to purchase some goods to get this (rather large) ball rolling. I got about $600.00 saved up, I think I know what I am gonna want/need to get the computer running.. I wanted some input as what parts I should/shouldn't be purchasing. I am the owner of the Jeep thread where I was talking about installing the PC in the center console.. I finally did enough research to realize that's a GREAT idea, and loved the other posts about Jeep installs.. Anyways, this post isn't about that!

So, question is: If you have $600.00 to spend on a CarPC, where would you put it?

I already have Case, Hard Drive, Wireless device, GPS and Software.

Again, I know the parts I THINK I want, I'm just not 100% positive, and don't want to post my ideas, because I want YOUR opinions.. Give it a shot!

Alright.. Aside from the PayPal part, I like your idea.. Here's what I was thinking, tell me where I am going wrong (or differ).

    Mainboard/Processor -
    Jetway Hybrid J7F2WE1G5D Mini-ITX
Motherboard with VIA C7 1.5GHz Processor
    $149.95

    Memory - 512mb DDR2 400mhz
    $54.99

    Monitor - Lilliput 7" VGA Touchscreen 619GL-70NP
$262.12 - Where are you seeing this for $180???

    Power Supply -
    M2-ATX, 160w
    $89.95

Those are the prices I found as well.. Liking your pricing a bit better! Where are you getting that from?? BTW, PLEASE let me know if you think I could do better???

jetway boards and M2/M1 are not a good mix.

Monitor on eBay. I got mine for $200 a year ago.

I just bough my 7" Lilli for $200 shipped on Ebay a week ago. Couldn't seem to find one much cheaper. I was probably a little impatient.

There's a Carnetix 1900 in the classifieds for around $90. I don't know if that would be a more compatible PSU...

The carnetix is not for this application.

And $200 sounds about right. That is what I paid, but in the retarded thread about how lilliputs suck and read here (with the yellow exclamation point by it too) some people were saying $180 shipped is what they got. So maybe you just have to look for the non-BIN eBay stuff. I bought mine BIN because I too am impatient.

I read the "How Lilliput Sucks" Thread.. Actually, I read like 6 pages of it.. Ha Ha Ha.. I am not your average consumer though.. I have trouble buying based off others comments about how products "suck" I look for the ones that give GOOD thorough reviews of the product.. Saying "thes produkt sux0rz" is not gonna lead me one way more than the other.

But anyways, from what I have read, Lilliput is pretty much the best way to go for the average person. Read that it COULD be a bit brighter, but I'm definitely not gonna complain. Anyways, time to go Ebaying! (I HATE EBAY BTW..)
