    Good Backup Camera specs?

I am looking for a *good* backup camera to add to my Infill T3.

Currently, what I am looking for more or less is:

    - Waterproof
    - has Night vision
    - No drill (can mount to license plate)
    - Resolution (~420+ lines) ok?
    - Pixel validity (NTSC 510*492)

Is 0Lux/f1.2 decent for night visibility?

Anything I am missing I should be playing closer attention to?
What do you use? What would you recommend?

    Thanks!

I've put license plate camera, Boyo VTL100 from Visiontech. You can get more info on boyovta.com. It has 0.3 Lux, 380 lines, NTSC 270k. Picture quality is excellent on my T3 and picture is bright at night. However, you do have to drill a hole, but after the install, it'll be covered up by the license plate.

Hooking up the camera for reverse only is a simple installation tweek. Most of the cameras come with the same wiring, power, ground, and output (usually RCA).

Here is the real question are you desiring to power up the camera in reverse or are you attempting to make it take over a screen in reverse?

For either the key to making this happen is to simply tap the power line of the reverse light in your car.

For most installations you would normally leave the camera running all the time (its not that big of a deal). Then when you are backing up signal the screen to switch displays to reverse. In this case you screen usually comes with a + remote on wire that directly hooks up to your reverse light no relay required. This all depends on the screen you are using and its accessability.

If you really wanted to power up the unit only in reverse instead of hooking up the cameras power line to a ACC 12v you would place a relay between the ACC 12v and power the relay off the tail light. This creates enough for both the tail light and reverse camera to run at the same time.
