I'm assuming 260watt is the max rating?
What's the rms rating on the speakers? what's the impedance of bot speakers and HU?
Hi, im trying to wire some simple 6 x 9's to my stock vw head unit. The wires running from the original speakers are soldered into the clip at the back of the head unit, can i just cut these and crimp my cable from the 6 x 9's to this to prevent me having to rip it out and re-solder etc. ???
Also im not looking for huge power and window breaking volume but will my stock vw head unit be able to power the 260w kenwood 6 x 9's in the boot sufficiently? will i still get a good sound?
Thanks for all advice

Are you putting the speakers at the original location? If so then just cut off the ends and plug in.
If you are putting them in a new location, then yes, isolate which wires actually go to the speakers, cut them (leave some room in case you desire to reattach them later) spice on your new wire running to your new speakers...pay attention to the positive/negative from the HU to the speaker.
You will get good sound, but it will not be louder than your current speakers.
Long term, if you run your HU at full power (with distortion) you will damage the speakers...if you have completely mismatched impedance (ohms) then you could damage the HU...if you run at high volume.
...I have no idea what a Stock VW HU is rated a...but it seems most new HUs put out a good bit of power.
Crutchfield makes a lot of nice wiring harnesses you can use to adapt your HU to external amps/speakers.
That may be a easier/cleaner install.
Just get an amp with a speaker level input.
