Hey, thanks for your quick answer!

Ok i tried but i failed Don't know what I'm doing wrog.
    What I've done:

    1) Unpair phone and Laptop
    2) Reboot both
    3)
    Code:
    fabs@ubuntu:~$ hcitool dev
    Devices:
    	hci0	40:2C:F4:6B:2C:C0
    fabs@ubuntu:~$ sudo rfcomm bind 0 40:2C:F4:6B:2C:C0 1
    [sudo] password for fabs:
    fabs@ubuntu:~$ sudo sdptool add SP
    Serial Port service registered
    4) Then paired Phone and Laptop
    5)
    Code:
    fabs@ubuntu:~$ obdsim -b
    SimPort name: Unknown
Successfully initialised obdsim, entering main loop
    10.000637 seconds. 0 samples, 0 queries. 0.00 s/s, 0.00 q/s
    ...
    6) Start Torque or OBD II Reader at Phone -> send Command.
Ubuntu gets the command because of the ubuntu popup- report that my device [...] tried to acess the service [...] would you allow this ....
But it did not arrive at the simulator and of course i did not get an answer.

I've no idea what went wrong.

    Thanks in advice.
    Fabs

Android app on windows communication with obdsim

Long version: It's up to the individual generators which PIDs they support. Logger, for example, reports a list of the PIDs available in the database it's using.
This database has one set of PIDs: http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/exam...treettriple.db
    This has completely another: http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/exam...010/ces2010.db

The right thing to do is have your code always use 0100 first, to get a list of supported PIDs from the vehicle/sim, and then decide what to do from there.

Bluetooth is only currently supported on Linux, using bluetooth.h. A windows port wouldn't be hard, but nowadays it's usually easier to just install linux on a VM or nearby laptop...

    Thanks,

I don't currently have any way to do bluetooth in windows. I'm sure that a bit of googling would turn up what's probably the best bet:
See if you can find a bluetooth widget/app/whatever that opens a COM port to windows, and exposes an RFCOMM interface via bluetooth. Then attach obdsim to that COM port. It almost certainly exists, I've just never gone looking for it...

Alternatively, I'm always accepting patches. If anyone wants to code up the bluetooth windows stack stuff, I'd be more than happy to include it...

Hey Gary..Thank you for taking time and answering the question...I have a few doubts ..I have opened a Bluetooth comport which is an incoming one.But I still didnt understand how to connect this to my android device.I am also getting default values like 10.011001 seconds. 0 samples, 0 queries. 0.00 s/s, 0.00 q/s . So how can I get different values. I tried chaning generators but I get the same values. Then the other problem is I have seen that there is also a GUI from this link http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/obdsim.html .But I dont see it anywhere here. Could you answer these questions and clear it out plz

Can you explain what you did? I don't know how you would have created a bluetooth comport?

I am also getting default values like 10.011001 seconds. 0 samples, 0 queries. 0.00 s/s, 0.00 q/s . So how can I get different values.
That's simply output, letting you know how many times the sim has communicated with the OBDII device. The numbers become useful once you're actually able to communicate between the OBDII app and the sim. ["samples" is how many OBDII PID requests there were. "queries" is total number of things communicated; queries includes things like AT commands, wheras samples doesn't]. That you're always seeing zeros just means that a connection isn't getting made.

I tried chaning generators but I get the same values. Then the other problem is I have seen that there is also a GUI from this link http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/obdsim.html .But I dont see it anywhere here. Could you answer these questions and clear it out plz
That gui is simply one of the generators, called gui_fltk. It should be the default on windows if it's compiled in [did you build obdsim yourself? if so, you'll need to have included FLTK support for the GUI to be there. If you downloaded the binary from my site, it comes with gui_fltk statically linked]. You can tell if it's compiled in by using "--list-generators"; if it's available, "gui_fltk" will be listed there.
