Guys seriously, using less energy and recycling stuff yourself is the wrong way, as are hybrids. Don't wanna start a new discussion but the way is alternative engergy.
Solar panels in the desserts of Arizona would produce enough power for the whole United States. Why should be preserve something and restrict ourself if there is a free and limitless supply of it?
Why are we still driving petrol driven cars? BMW sells a hydrogen 7-series so the technology is obviously there....and don't even get me started on hybrids...

That should be use, abuse, and pass on to next friend. Damn women.

What are CF lights? Just the twisty ones from the local store or something special? I wish those worked with a dimmer.

I conserve by limiting my use of this site to strictly OT and DOT. This saves power not only for me, but for the servers that runs the site also.
    Spent so far: $1,755

I am out in Denton County. We dont have Water restrictions since we are on a comunity well.

As for the black water it goes through a aerobic septic system that makes it safe to use on the lawn also. (All the waste water from household use is used to water the lawn.)

Other things we have done are leaving the native grasses for our lawn. CF bulbs, The Biggie is I dont drive to work. I work from my house. I might use 15 Gal of gasoline every 2 weeks.

I'd rather do what I can now while we're still working out ways to find other sources rather than continue on a path of destruction until we find that solution.

Just because you believe the industries are being slow to adopt doesn't mean that what we're doing is wrong.

Industries aren't going to change until the consumer demands it. The consumer won't demand it if they don't realize it's benefits. Those who are conscious of their energy use are usually more conscious of the larger energy users as well.

It kinda goes hand in hand.

no - that's why I asked if he lived a bit outside of town.

usually, when people do something like that, they have septic systems. In otherwords, they aren't necessarially attached to the cities sewer system...because they live further out.
