A friend of mine used to have Netflix, but switch to blockbuster simply because of unlimited and net-store thinggy.
Which one do you guys use? I just signed up for NetFlix free trial but then read about how they "throttle" the number of movies you can have per month... and if you return/rent too many movies from them, they put you "on line" for newer movies that came out...
blockbuster has an unlimited $24.99 plan per month on rentals - in store - which is awesome.
I'm wondering who here has either plan and is it good? bad?

I use neither, but only because I don't watch enough movies to make it worth it.
I did have a Netflix sub when I lived in Sacramento. It was nice because of the quick turnaround, thanks to a local distribution center (one of their first, apparently!).
Now, though, I think Blockbuster would be the better option, simply because you have the option to return DVDs at the store & walk out with a new one instead of mailing them back and waiting...
blockbuster was always good to me.. i'd say i'd averaged 20 movies a month while i had the subscription.. and that was before you could return in store. I cancelled only because i ran outta movies i wanted to see.

I have had good luck with BlockBuster, the movies get here quick, especially if you like obscure or foreign films, those always seem to be in stock. I assume that is the same w/ NetFlix, but w/ BB you can return them in the store and get new ones there, not bad.
BINGO! 1st off, thank you all for your replies. I started a free 14 day trial with netflix but, i agree, blockbuster is better since you can return in store and take out new movies - w/o having to ship them, wait for the company to get them, then send you new ones.
im going to cancel the 14 day trial in a couple of days and then switch to the blockbuster option. just fyi tho, block buster started limiting the # of times you can come into the store to "exchage" movies which you recieved via mail. which is still fine tho. but from what i've read and researched, this is something recent. previously, you can come back to the store as many times as you wanted per month.
https://www.blockbuster.com/signup/rp/regPlan is the blockbuster plans as of now
im goign with the $17.99 plan which lets you return 5 movies in-store per month.
i haven't had a tv in 7 years - by choice - so now that i have a 42" plasma (which i also use as a montior) , i am gona start watchin' some movies i was too cheap to go see when they were out in theatres! w00t!

i'll tell you this much its hella convenient having a BB down the block especially with a movie pass. Instead of me leaving town to go out to a club somewhere and spend all kinds of moneys. I simply just drive down the block(yes i said driveim lazy) rent a movie drive back home and make it a blockbuster night. Although I wish i hadnt spent soo much money on car audio when i could invest in a decent HT.
