Daytime Running Lamps
I don't know much about the wiring, but I can tell you a little about blue lamps. The expensive ones (HID) that you find in Beemers and Lexuses are available in kit form, but are PRICEY. Several hundred dollars. Plus, you pretty much have to rewire your lighting system becuase they draw so much power. More importantly, the true HID lights don't have high beams, so you need a second set of lamps for the hi beams.
Fortunately, there are fake HID lamps which apparently give a similar blue glow, but only as bright as normal lamps. These (from what I've found) are only available in the bulb only form (no big glass lamps like in most US cars).
And then you come to my solution - a Jeep, so I have the whole lamp to replace. The local Champion (er, Big Wheel, er, Western Auto) sells these Bright White things. They're white - a definate change from the normal yellow, but don't look anything like HID.
