Any type of small amplifier for phono rca plugs?

My grandfather just bought a really nice pair of Bose headphones for his TV. Basically the headphones are connected to the cable box's audio out. He didnt want to connect the headphones to the TV's audio out because when he controls the volume on the TV is controls the headphone also.

Here is the problem, the since the headphone are connected to the cable-box audio out, the headphone dont really get that loud enough for him. Is there some sort of amplifier i can get that can boost the audio a little bit? He has a mini stereo amplifier from radio shack but it TOTALLY degrades the sound in the headphones and it sounds like crap.

    No, of course not.
Where do you expect it to get the power? You need an amp of some description.

    Maybe this?

It is a kit but you can put on any type of jack you want.
PAIA makes good stuff; been buying from them for many years.
