up to when I started using Windows XP, I was using 640x480,

Then I up-graded to 800x600 - Still used 640x480 in games for years

Now I use LCDs and projectors - so I use there native resolutions

    Computer 1 - 1280x1024 - 17in Dell LCD

    Computer 2 - 800x480 - Projector - that uses an 7in LCD and cheap $30 HQI
lamps, quality is not perfect - but I can leave it on all day, just like a real
    monitor, watch movies / TV

Car Computer - 640X480 - cheap old LCD

Dad's computer - he's got a huge, wide screen, Viewsonic LCD, its at 800x600 - but
he has eye problems / blind

Girlfriend is now at 2 X 1680X1050 using my hand-me-down screens (more screen-estate for shoe-shopping web pages...)
