The real question is why would you upgrade to vista when xp works just fine..if not better than vista?

I haven't had many problems with Vista. I have XP and Vista dual boot and don't really use XP anymore (Vista's too Pretty). Also, there's a hack to allow remote desktop in Vista Professional. Pretty cool to be able to RDT thru my Mogul.
My opinion is as long as you have up to date hardware to run it and don't mind upgrading, Vista is ok. My UPS's don't work in Vista but i figured that would happen.

If the only thing you like about Vista is making it look pretty, just get XP and download stylishXP.
You can make XP look much better than Vista, plus it won't be super slow.
What do you mean "Vista Professional"? There's not a "Professional" version of vista. THere's like 83 versions, but none of them are "Professional."
Remote desktop is available on Business and Ultimate editions, but if there is hack for Home Premium I'd like to know.

I'll probably reinstall vista home premium and try this Saturday (I need the machine to have functioning remote desktop until then).

Glad i could help. I wanted a way to RDT in to my home pc from work and that's how i stumbled on that. BTW..... Does anyone know how secure it is to allow access thru RDT from outside your home network?? I've heard not to do it? Would my company be able to track that and see my files or see what i'm doing?

Is there really something wrong with an OS that just works? I'm pretty sure i have both OSX Leopard and Vista Laptops and when i pulled my macbook pro out of the box it automatically sync'd with network, got all my programs installed in under and hour and had it ready to go. In comparison i've been working for the past 4 days getting my new Hp Dv2419us laptop working that comes equipped w/ ****sta and it'll connect to my wireless when it feels like it, and will decide to take 20 minutes to shut down on random because vista will randomly take it's sweet *** time installing upgrades.
So really, the OS for retards is the one that people keep buying that doesn't work, aka VISTA.
