Not true anymore. If there were more output (profit) that input (overhead), the technologies would be there. The "big guys" couldn't stop it. Especially in the internet age.

Case in point....The ONLY reason the windmill farms in California are still going is due to government subsidies. And even then, the companies that have been in charge has changed....I think it's 3 times now due to going out of business. There is no money in alternative energy. Not today anyway. Hate to say it, but it's true.
    My opinion is my own.

Yeah I agree, they cant stop it anymore but thats what they have been doing at the very beginning. Only if the development have been encouraged, water powered car would have been a common thing today.

Windmill farms is a different story though. Are you saying theres no money in boosting MPG which was the original topic was all about? Of course running an engine on hydrogen on demand is ideal.

With the high price of fuel, an increased MPG is good enough for most.

Well, if it were, don't you think the car makers would have released one by now? GM just had it's worst year ever. Would think a water powered car would be the perfect hail mary to put them in first place! Oil companies aren't stopping them, because almost all makers have a hydrogen car ready for the market as soon as the infrastructure is available (hydrogen stations).
    My opinion is my own.

It is the single biggest scientific breakthrough in recorded history. Get in on it, bone up on some math skills because the first person to document this in the language of science (which is math) will become more famous than Albert Einstein and Sir Issac Newton rolled into one. Why? Because it will, in a single event, overturn the laws of conservation of energy and the laws of thermodynamics.

Don't let this opportunity pass you by...

Current hydrogen powered car is no treat. Its the car with onboard hydrogen generator is the treat.

Like I said to wizard, its pretty pointless trying to have a productive discussion in a forum like this.

Dont stand in the way of the man whos doing it.

I, for one, would never dream of standing in the way of someone making an advance for humanity and the planet. However,

A productive discussion would seem to require an exchange of opinion and/or fact presented in a common language using a logical set of premises for whatever culture is hosting the discussion.

You have advocated for a process that seems to violate several generally accepted laws of physics, i.e., Conservation of Energy, and Thermodynamics. Logic would dictate that the onus of proof is therefore on you. Else I could freely assert a flying purple dragon is in my backyard, and if you did not believe me, then I would be justified in a veiled insult through claiming you refused to have a productive discussion.

I think you are guilty of the logical fallacy of a non sequitur, i.e., If A is true, then B is true. B is stated to be true. Therefore, A must be true.

dumping hydrogen into a gas engine will increase horse power and fuel economy, I did an experiment back in high school based on the same principles that are discussed in this thread

However if you do plan on doing this for yourself, replace the valves, piston rings, exaust in the engine to stainless steel. Otherwise you will have a huge corrosion problem in a very short time.

As far as extracting the hydrogen, it would take me all day to try and explain how i did it so good luck!!!

No you didn't! (please note extreme sarcasm in that statement)
Figured that was more humorous than dragging out a thesaurus.

    My opinion is my own.

JS8581 and David69Leonard: If you're generating the hydrogen in the car by cracking water, then bull****. The electricity used to split the water into hydrogen and oxygen is more than the power you get back when it burns in the engine.

Ask yourself: If it was energy positive, then why not just add more alternators and mayonaise jars and run the entire car off pure water?
