See, I just don't have anything that can utilize the higher speeds, even between computers...not yet anyways...so the extra $5 or $10 just isn't worth it just yet for me.

However, once I get a media PC going, then that's a different story!

I actually wasn't aware of the other firmware downloads...links?

    1. connect to your router through your internet browser. Look to see if you can test anny connections to your router.

    2. go into your laptop start -run - type "cmd" press ok- then type "ipconfig"
    3. go back to your router and see if you laptop matches an ip that your router has set a range to. ie. 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.5
    4. if your laptop is not within that range then type in run - cmd - "ipconfig /release" to release that ip. Then type "ipconfig /renew"

if you dont feel like doing those steps then.... just do
start -run - type "cmd" press ok - then type "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew"

if that does not work... then we will give your laptop an ip within the range of internal ip's set by your router.

If she is getting "network cable unplugged", would the above steps do anything? There is no network there or even power for a network. If it is an IP issue, wouldn't you get the little terminals with the yellow triangle and exclaimation?
