i have a old nec 4 disc cdrom changer drive its kinda slow but dam is it reliable i have no problem with xp
I recently came into a a 4 disc slot load cd rom. I tried using it under xp, but it didn't work all that well.. I'm told that XP has issues with the drive, but I should be happy with the results that 98 would give me.
This week I'll be configuring my puter for re-installation into the car. I suppose I'll try putting 98 on it first and try out the drive.
Has anybody else used one of these drives?

i had one of the nec 4disc slot loaders. it was ok until i found the utility that made it appear as one disc drive instead of 4. then i loved it (especially for games like baulders gate).

there is a utility to do that? i don't use it anymore except as a emergency drive for cd installs since it seems to read darn near any disc i am thinking of putting it in a spare puter to use in my garage as for my automotive repair cd's
