dont go by the rated max go by the motor FLA then you can size your wire to that.
do you know the motor data on the winch like HP?
read the forum rules so putting this in off topic... hopefully it gets some responses....
I asked a question about the difference of battery isolators and relays...
now the other question...
I am trying to wire up my truck...
I have 2 batteries under the hood that are 1000ca duralast golds in parallel.
They are connected to a 90a isolator on leg A
then leg b of isolator goes to 2x1300ca batteries in the bed.
now I have a winch that is about 8-10' away.... the rated draw is 460a max to which I used 3/0 cable.... I want to add a disconnect to the circuit for protection.
the winch came with 6' of 2 gauge wire.... so my main question is
winch comes with 2 gauge wire for a winch max draw of 460a which doesnt seem enough...
I can get a cable disconnect good for 1/0 which is rated for 430a max draw.
so thus I am confused.... should I go with 1/0 cable and disconnect to connect to the batteries???
also dont laugh too hard at my mspaint drawing.... all I had handy... also vista wouldnt let me use the text tool... so had to free hand text...
