does that mean i should go buy one?
Finally! the biggest Apple rumor of this year has come to an end taking the shape of reality...
It includes a built-in GPS, dramatically improved audio, solid metal buttons, insanely long battery life, normal headphone jack, and web browsing is 36% faster than any other 3G phone.

not unless you're willing to spend about 60 bucks a month on just additional extra packages. From what I understand, in addition to the usual ~30 dollar iPhone feature that you have to get visual voicemail and unlimited edge net, you also have to get a 3G unlimited net package for another ~30 bucks to take advantage of the 3G. Basically they're doing a Media bundle with the visual voicemail, and then slapping a PDAnet package onto your 3G iPhone. Little steep IMHO, considering with a non-iphone 3G phone, you don't pay a penny extra to use the 3G network over edge (provided you have a Media Max package on your phone)
Also the fact it is made by Apple is reason enough to not get one. Any company willing to outright lie about their product and its competitor (mac vs. pc) will never get a cent of mine.

yes we all hate the commercials but that has nothing to do with the iPhone. (and macs use intel processors btw)
@crawdaaddy - you don't get the 3G plan on top of the EDGE plan; it supplants it. and it is not inflated for the iPhone, it is the same plan as their other 3G smart phones. (according to engadget)
while I don't agree with many of Apples business tactics and choices, I do feel like the 3G iPhone is hands down the best smart phone available today, and I will get one after having sat on the fence about the first one.

No bashing, however I enjoy the commercials.
They're funny... the PC guy gets owned every time... what isnt funny about that?
A little bit of questionable advertising? Come on, 99% of the crowd that watches those videos won't catch on to those things, nor will they buy a mac anyways because all their friends use PCs and nobody switches unless they're graphically or technically inclined and know of their deciison before hand.
My biggest questions about the 3G iPhone are: is the reception better than the original iPhone(for those that didn't know, the iPhone had less than ideal reception due to the metal rear casing) and has there been a jailbreak developed for it yet (yes or no will suffice )?
Ideally, I'd like as good of, or better reception than my razr v3xx. I'm frequently out at the local Boy Scout camp where there are more cows than people in the area (and NO, I'm not switching carriers b/c out of all of them AT&T has the best service in the area of them all...).
