Guys, I have a question about a completely unrelated application I'm using. It was written by some guys in my development team and is written in VB.NET but calls another application which is written in VB6 I believe. When I try to use one of the functions, I get the following error:
For this application to install correctly, there are quite a few .dll/.tpl/.ocx files that need to be registered using regsvr32 and even one that has to be done using regasm. Those were all successful and accounted for (except for one named SSPng2.dll which wouldn't register) and now I get this error. The application works fine on my machine which has had this application installed/uninstalled on it about 200 times for testing, but once I port it over to a virtual machine that I created with nothing on it, it won't work. I'm guessing there's some .dll file that didn't get registered or I missed (unlikely) but that's what Google searches are causing me to believe.
Application Name: LINEMERGE

Error Number: 429
Error Source: LINE_MERGE
Error Description: ActiveX component can't create object.

System Info: Windows Version = Windows 2000 (5.2.3790), Total Physical Memory = 767 MB, Available Physical Memory = 431 MB, Processor type = 586 (1 processor(s)), ERROR
The only other thing I noticed related to ActiveX is that I have a Microsoft.ActiveXPlugin entry in the registry of my machine but not in the registry of the virtual machine. Do I have to install the plugin? Where do I get it? All the ones I see online are for browsers, this is a desktop application.
