I don't know if you guys know, but I work at a Hotel, and pretty much brought it out of the 1920's and added upgraded features like high speed INTERNET, Wi-Fi, and kiosks for guests to use for boarding pass print outs, and research. One thing that we do is when we make up the rooms, we always turn the TVs to a specific channel (Sirius/XM music). What I tried to do in the past is hook up a PC that has power point on it, and show advertisement for the Hotel. Basically it pops up a welcome message, then lists a 7 day weather forecast, and advertisement on specials that the restaurant and or hotel are having.
Here is the issue. All the TVs are HDTV flat panel TVs, it was one of the things I insisted on to bring us out of the stone age. The problem is that after about 2 days, the images from the PC, actually start to burn into the screen, meaning that when I change a channel, you still see the image of the hotel logo and what not. I know the TV units have a feature to clear this up, but I would have to go to each TV, everyday, and thats impossible. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to prevent this issue? I know that one thing Dish Network does is constantly move the logo around, which is fine, but I cant do that with the advertisement and weather areas. Is there a trick that I can use to over come this issue?

Can you not just change up the appearance of the powerpoint? Some of our screens at work which show the same screen 95% of the time get this issue, but it's not a true burn in as I've been told... The screen just needs a few seconds/minutes to basically get reset.
Play with it, 'til it's broke.
LCDS can't really burn in.....
Best thing you can do is move things around...not saying weather has to move but don't show it for as long and alternate with some other graphic for a few seconds.

You know, back in the day a screen saver actually served a purpose. It, well, it was a "screen saver."
You just need to make sure the presentation keeps changing slides.
Maybe have the weather on a number of slides, slightly offset from each other by a few pixels.
I think the best thing to do is just have faster intervals between the screens. Also have animated graphics, rather then static. The Hotel Logo I can just have bounce around.

You could change background colors as they cycle as well as transitions. Like say there are 4 screens, they could be black, blue, pink, or if PP has a randomize use it. Try to play around with the features. There may be something easy to add that could be automated.
i dont htink its the colors that bother it. Its the outline of what ever graphic, but logic is telling me that if I have it constantly moving, but in a way that it isnt noticable, it should work. say maybe move 2 pixels to the rigfht, then 2 pixels up, then to the left and so on.

Well, just 2 pixels should cause a fuzzier burn-in.
Think of it this way. Say you have a white square on screen for 5 minutes, then you'd want a black square for 5 minutes on the same pixels. If it were 10 pixels wide and you shifted it 5 pixels instead, you'd have more burn-in on the 5 pixels that overlap, and less on each 5 on the sides. Also, lower brightness decrease the burn. 255 on any RGB channel causes much more burn than say 210, which is safer.
