Love that model of Z, it has always been one of my dream cars, that or a Mitsi 3000GT

Only problem with that model Z in Australia is that every idiot that picks one up destroys the beautiful looks with horrible aftermarket wings, and curvy front and rear spoilers that don't fit the lines properly. Then they throw huge exhaust cans on the back that hang right to the road....blech.

Very jealous of a mighty fine car Kraft, love it!

I like the Mistubishi 3000 GT as well and if i had enough room and money to have it then it would probably be the next on the shopping list

I know what you are talking about, we have roughly the same retards in europe.
That's why i talked about not breaking the spirit of this car and making it look better is a real engineering or design work far away from what some red neck can do. That's why i won't attempt to modify this nearly perfection. The only thing i plan to add is a rear wing to get rid of this old foam that corrupts the metal under.

The Z32 was critically acclaimed by many magazines as being a complete turnaround from the Z31, which many critics felt was a sloppy-handling GT, far from the agile, sporty 240Z of years past.

Motor Trend named the 1990 300ZXtt "Import Car of the Year".

Motor Trend also named it One of the Top Ten Performance Cars.

Automobile Magazine honored the 300ZX as its Design of the Year and named the 300-ZX Turbo to its All Stars list.

Automobile Magazine also named the Z32 to its "25 Most Beautiful Cars" list in August 2006 and "20 Greatest Cars" in April 2006.

Road & Track named the 300ZXtt One of the Ten Best Cars in the World.

Car and Driver named the 300-ZX Turbo One of the Ten Best Cars for six straight years.

From the year it was introduced, it won many comparison tests against similar sports cars such as the Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth and the Mazda RX-7, as well as the Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Thunderbird, Toyota Supra and the Porsche 968.
After that, trying to be smarter seems so vain

Of course the Aston is not my car, it's my customer's car

Ok now, what to do in the Z, a hud like display , a motorized screen, a center console with screen in it ?
I have this car since last year but i still don't have idea where to insert the screen without altering it too much.

.....They drove the Aston onto gravel? Its only 10 feet, but an Aston on GRAVEL?? :P

Kraft, have you got pictures of the inside of the car? That way others can have a ponder over where to put a screen or what to do with the insides too.....and guys like us who don't have a mighty Z can have a peek inside and dream

Yes i know the owner drove the car on gravel but this gravel is there to drain a kind of mud made of stone dust and water which is very grinding and dirty

For the interior it's obvious that pics are needed but i don't have a wide angle camera and it was a question if anyone else has one Z on the forum in the other hand all opinions are ok.

I'm reluctant to modify this car interior i don't know why...
On the paper the Z has less "noblesse" than a Porsche i used to have but i can't close eyes start modifications with no regrets. This is bizarre feeling
Maybe i'm getting too old or i do not have yet an idea that would ignite the powder

Here is one pic i found on google

    2.5 dins for ipad!!!
check out what bugbyte is trying to do. He is also working on sheeva plug to deliver content to the ipad.

If cutting is too scary try to get another console insert and use that one to cut. You will still have the original. I normally get junk parts to work on and keep the originals whenever possible. This will also help for resale. Nice to have an all original option for the next owner!

Well to be honest, i have an i-phone provided to me by my company but apart using it as simple phone, i don't find it so usable for in-car. In other context i don't have time or in an inconscient way maybe i don't like to seek other options which are not under fingertips when i'm using it at work.
I always get the impression of wasting my time when i use it for something else.
I prefer to use my old Motorola RAZR V3 instead which has far less features but which do it's job...beeing a phone.

Apple is building nice object that's true but i wouldn't buy one for myself and btw i wouldn't buy an i-pad.
In other hand i like to dream and dreaming means no limits...Apple is going in the opposite way.
I stay on the ol'good pc with linux inside which offers wider possibilities, i can put hands in every tinyest part of code if needed, alterate graphics, play with the I/O where Apple products are narrowing I/O, code, medias.
Finally after decades of war against Microsoft, Apple joined the way they were spitting on...
    So linux or nothing.

For the console i share your point of view, any setup i did, i did it with reversing to original option in mind to let the car remain in full original state.

I'm looking to put the screen horizontally over the instruments cluster cap (sorry i don't know the name of the part over the cluster instruments), embedded in a kind of plastic support or something that could look not too ugly or on a flexible mteal pod like the venerable Blaupunkt IQR83

I can't see pics of the Z32. I've owned 4 of them. I just sold my last one back in March because I wasn't driving it. My buddy is turning it into a track car. I may get a 240Z again someday, but probably not a Z32 as it cannot fit my 6'8" frame and my wife and our 2 daughters.

Shame on me, i didn't mounted an electrified fence around the server
The cat went behind the pc and played with an already damaged ethernet cable lol with the result that the server was no more able to be reached.
