Do you use Linux?

Just curious (and bored), do you use Linux in any way? Servers, phones, desktops, carpcs, tivo and toasters do apply.

I'm wondering how much of this community is touched by Linux in anyway.

You're not going to come on here with something like "zomg you use google so you use Linux without knowing it!" are you?

I think a better question would be to ask people if they knowingly use Linux every day. Server's don't really count, neither do technically phones (Unless you have a n900 :P) or tivo, since these are appliances. In these cases you're not using Linux so much as you're using the appliance.

I put up the vote for servers and device.

I do use a good amount of linux from day to day.

At my school, the tech staff is undermanned and underpaid, being the webmaster, I continuously needed stuff to be changed on the web servers and so now I take care of the two web servers there. Although, one of them is now running FreeBSD 7 rather than linux since it is far more reliable and the ports system is awesome.

I've tried linux on the desktop, and no matter how hard I try, I can never keep it. There are just too many windows things I need.

As I fix quite a bit of computers, I use live cd's everyday... clonezilla, knoppix.

You can definitely say linux touches my life quite a bit though.

I have linux desktop at work, a couple linux servers/desktops at home. I have a sheeva in my car, two linksys wrt54gs at home running dd-wrt. I administer linux servers at work. I checked all three of the "Yes" checkboxes.

Honestly, my first day at my current job a year ago, they gave me a windows laptop; I used nothing but windows that day, and that's honestly the most I've used windows in a decade.

Servers do count if you either work on one at work (ie, you're an admin/IT guy), or if you own one at home (ie, a NAS or media server). I'm not asking if you've used the Internet because undoubtedly you've run across some company's website that runs on Linux.

I'm not asking if you are a die-hard Linux nut. I'm just wondering how many people are aware they are using Linux.
