i hardly ever use p2p, but it won't stop.. if they do people will just use freenet or someone willl come out with something totally anonymous.. it'll never die they should of learned that after killing napster
Is anyone going to stop sharing files on P2P because of the RIAA's threat to prosecute file sharers? This sounds like a relaly stupid move on the part of the RIAA to me.

they just dont seem to understand. They cant kill p2p. There are so many of them out there. They shut down one and everyone will flock to the next program. They are just gonna waste tons of time and money. Its just gonna continue to grow.

file sharing will never die.
If you are sharing cant you just use, SOCKS, proxies, IP spoofers, free internet and what not?
Yes, but what about those who don't? The way RIAA is trying to stop it is by making examples of a few people thereby scaring off the general population making it harder to get files, thereby discouraging those who do it because it's easy... and they already have programs (www.netpd.com) that find users through p2p programs (such as winmx) and then reporting them to their isps...I could be wrong, but I have a strong feeling the isp's will (eventually) cooperate...I'm off of time warner, and I'm sure they have no problem with stopping mp3 and movie sharing...so to all those who say that RIAA can't do anything about it...well, i think they will...do i agree with them? As a musician, computer user, and general human being i do...but on the other hand as a musician, computer user, and general human being I completely disagree...but that's a discussion for a different thread.
