I've been on and off over the years. This forum has def died since about 2008-09. I think it's when MP3Car became so commercialized. I know that's when I stopped coming on, when it was all about CF and Streetdeck.
It kinda turned me off.

Yeah, I was here early as well. I started - I think around 1999 - under another screen name which I have now forgotten. My first rig was an XT clone in the trunk hooked up to an inverter. The display was a 4x20 LCD velcroed to the bottom of the dash. It was music only using Winamp as the player. It took me nearly a month to rip all my CDs, I used a remote and an IRMan to control which songs would play. Every song had a number and I printed the song list in a notebook so I could punch the number of the song I wanted to play on the remote. This was way before Ipods and the idea of having one's whole music collection in the car, being able to pick which songs to play and actually seeing the artist and song display on a screen literally blew peoples' minds when I showed it to them. My haven't we come a long way!
