Thread: What do I need to broadcast Fm

i was going to tell you that you would need an FCC license... but since you arent in the US, you probably wouldnt need that

so, beyond that i have no help. just keep in mind, that since there are basically a limited number of FM transmission frequencies, you might accidentally overlap into some paying companies broadcasting frequency.

that might be a big problem, but i dont know the laws in sweeden.

yes it can be done.. there are kits like this one that'll change your computer into a way to transmit radio over a certain frequency.

in the states its legal as long as your under a certain watt limit. Like its legal for me to transmit my mp3s from my computer on a station and cover my house and yard and such.

Just curious, since a major car-demonstration through our capital with 200+ cars was kind of hard to keep in one line
It was a protest against the goverment closing a dragstrip near Stockholm, and what would be more ideal than all tuning in to the leader car

5W should get you easily around the block. HAHA actually it will get you a few miles too, depending... Here is a kit for sale in the UK (about 90UK for the stereo transmitter) It's probably illegal to use it in most places, though!

there is a legal limit to how powerfull your fm transmitter can be without a licence, i dont know what it is but it is probably not to hard to find out. but since you are in a car it will be nearly imposible for you to be caught, so i would say forget about the licence and have some fun and broadcast your station overtop of a major station and start talking to people listening to that station. lol

it would be great fun to have one in a car computer and steal signals going down a busy highway think of all the possibilities if its a populat station just a bit weak in that area. Making fun of the guy behind you and such

what is the device that would tell what signalls other people are using called?

is this similar to what they have in drive-ins?
