The 2000 Cobra R wing creates 30lbs of down-force at 160mph. The only way a jetta would get there would be to throw it out of a plane at 32,000 feet. No offense, I think Jetta's are pretty slick.

Not sure or not, but is the jetta even RWD? Assuming it is FWD, putting downforce over the rear wheels is the last thing you want to do...

wow... where to start on this..

1. a jetta is not rwd or awd. the sti and the evolution are awd. that is why they have wings.

2. a wing on a fwd car will force the REAR down not the front. this would effectively DECREASE the downforce on the front wheels... the wheels that drive the car.

3. touring wings only add a significant amount of downforce after your speeds gets to about 80-100 mph.

4. if you want to increase handling. stiffen your car. strut tower braces or the likes.

5. wings look frickin rediculous (spelling?) on any car that doesnt have a legitimate reason for one.

6. blindly adjusting the wing will not give you the flexibility that you want. extensive wind tunnel testing and HIGH speed test runs under controlled conditions are the only way to tune a wing. half assing it by speeding along the highway and adjusting the wing isnt going to get you anywhere, but in an accident.

Why in the freaking world people want to put Boeing made wing on the FWD car?
The purpose of the wing/spoiler is to put the downforce on the driving wheels which is on RWD car like these Ferraris, Lambo, Porches, Vett, Supra, 300Z, 3000GT, Viber or 4WD like Mittsu Evo and Subaru WRX.
Is it because most Civic has those wing and you want one as well?

as for the rwd situation, i knew about that and probably forgot to tell u that i am converting my fwd jetta into a awd jetta

and this jetta will also be able to pull the speed needed for the wing to be usfull with the 600 hp EIP stage 6 turbogharger system i am putting in it (not for awhile though

it is gunna cost me like 16 grand US for this, i'm just thinking ahead)

I just buy a different car, instead of doing all that to change your car.
