Ok before I get seriously flamed for somewhat reopening a thread I'll just come straight out and ask a moderator to close it after my post. Ok and this is mainly for JettMasta's own information about obtaining the car he wants, and to those of you non believers out there that should never doubt the possibilities of any car. Here is the basic idea, the jetta is based upon VW's A-platform which includes the New Beetle, Jetta, Golf/GTI, and Audi TT. Knowing that you cannot get the amazing 4-motion 4WD(it's 4, not awd) but you can transplant the TT quattro AWD system over to any of the A-Platform vehicles given the necessary parts and ALOT of man hours, or a whole lot of money(whcih you would need anyway) and pay a custom shop to do it. Just had to state that in his defense and give him some info. And one last thing JettaMasta, as for the EIP stage 6 you have in mind, might I suggest using a euro spec VR6 and going the twin turbo route.

Ok, if he is wanting to make 600hp he needs to have a single turbo. Twin turbos are for efficency not power. Second off, He doesn't have the car yet. Why buy a car and then spend 20k to try and make it something that it is not. Why don't you just buy a car that is made to handle 600hp. And he was trying to claim he's going to make it awd? but he don't know how to? Why come on here and post what you dream about doing to a car. If he really wanted to make 600hp, the most he would need would be that stage three package (I think that was the one that upgraded to forged internals). And then put a 150 shot of nitrous on it to cool the intake, and a new tune with a flip chip for nitrous and without nitrous. There's your 600 hp. If it was 600hp on a front wheel drive car without the use of nitrous it would not be able to launch. The tires would have to be so big to put the power to the ground that it would rub when he tried to turn the car.
This is just from observation, I'm an American Muscle type of guy and don't really get into modding economy cars so I could be wrong here. I did like his avitar though, Honda Eater! Right on!
Unfortunately I cnat answer any questions about why since I dont want to doit, just stating that it is possible. Only reason I can think of why is to have an original one of a kind car. Anyways Sonic, I noticed you are also in ST.Louis and ouy said you were more into American muscle jsut a quick request if oyu happen to see any '79 TA bodies(doesn't need an engine or tranny) in decent shape around the area mind sending me an e-mail ? tia

dont get me started with the whole 4WD vs. AWD
*theres no official technical difference.*
there are different types of systems that are capable of driving all 4 wheels. usually cars that drive all 4 wheels are said to have AWD and trucks are said to have 4WD. its just marketing tho
I have a subaru just so you know, and I've heard it all before.![]()
I thought twin turbo setups were with one large and one small turbo, so the small turbo whips up fast at the lower rpm, and the larger turbo kicking in a the higher range, giving a more smooth pressure flow.

sorry, no
as for the post above, you can make big power with twin turbos, theres no rule saying you cant... the new cl65 amg has 600hp w/ twin turbo v12. factory.
there are plenty of 700hp twin turbo supras going around
single or double it doesnt really matter you can do anything with both
USUALLY you'll have to smaller turbos for faster reaction and spool up
Anything is possible :
