The connection to the dlink antenna is the same as a video in, right, and left audio connectors on most gaming consoles...

    like this:

    XtReMoDs.com

    Carputer Status (Not installed.)
    -VIA M10000 N
    -TM-7002S + TSK (7" LCD)
    -512MB PC2700 DDR
    -40GB 2.5" HD
    -SB Live!
    -Rand McNally GPS
    -DLink FM Tuner
    -XMRPC

If you dont want new speakers one of my friend talked about just limiting how much power gets to the speaker w/ using resistors or something... not 100% sure
If you get new speakers get a set of component speakers (seperate woofer and tweeter - no coaxial) with a crossover.

I own a MKIV Jetta with the Monsoon. The mids and tweeters are not bundled together. They both have seperate wires running to them from the trunk monsoon "black box". I replaced my speakers and amp with aftermarket components. I tapped into the factory wiring in the trunk that used to plug into the "black box" mounted in the top rear deck. The crossovers are mounted in the doors with the new speakers.

If you don't want to replace the factory speakers you will still crossovers. I learned this lesson the hardway and blew all four factory tweeters (before upgrading speakers). The factory monsoon "black box" (amp/crossover) does not have a remote turn-on lead. It also will NOT work with low-level outputs (like that from a sound card).

Did you ever hack together the turnon signal? I'm interested in what you did.
