I wonder why people would expect a group of women to have seriously different expectations from a car than men. There's just as many suited city boys who wont open the hood to do simple stuff as there are girls quite capable of changing wheels.
Cars already have mirrors in them, and stereos, and a glove box...
what more do we need ('cept car pc's)

I guess the only things I can really think of are emphasis of use.
Stereotypically girls are more likely to want it to be easy to park, and nice to look at.....

    My favourite is this.

The car should be programmed to discover any problems under the bonnet, then send a message to the garage to let them know.

The mechanics would then contact the women directly to invite them over.
I can just imagine the mechanics inviting the women over.

To be honest from experience anyone who is too stupid to know what they are doing under the bonnet can't actually opent eh bloody thing anyway! Maybe they should just not put how to open the bonnet in the handbook and not colour the lever red.

Then only people with any kind of mechanical sense can opent he bonnet and that goes for MEN AND WOMEN!

3)It's a VOLVO, what the fu@k do you think volvo has enough marketing and brain power to just stick with a traditional car and not try something as drastically stupid as this. Maybe not, Damn europeans screwing it up again...LOL

anyway my 2 pennies on this subject
you know, I always wondered something: why is it a penny for your thoughts, but you throw your two cents in? somebody's makin' a whole lot of pennies.

also, this is retarded beyond reason. I don't know a lot about cars, I admit that. I know basic maintenence(filling up yer various fluids, etc.), and little more. but if I own a car, I want to be able to get in and mess around, or possibly have someone I know who could do it mess around. if I got one of these, first thing I'm doing is taking a large and powerful saw built to go through metal to it, slapping some hinges and a way to keep it from opening on it's own on there, and making it normal.

thank god it's not going into production.
softmodded xbox, PSOne screen, inverter. simple and effective. Combine with PDA and head unit with aux input, and we're having a wonderful time.

Don't have to open the bonnet on an audi A2 to top up the fluids - the Audi logo is actually a flap you open with the dipstick and fillers behind it.

When will you Americans learn English?

    UK Bonnet = US Hood

Dunno about the boxter but i doubt it. I thought you just lifted up the vents at the back as the engine is over the back wheels. Even the Elise has a BONNET with a small BOOT after it. The Boxter has a BOOT in the front. mind you the boxter engine is pretty flat and low so maybe....

LESLIE, you have the car i am saving up for on black and everything. There are loads of Scoobys on here now with finished car PCs. How do you find it? Any problems? What is the boot space and fuel consumption like? (have to prove it is practical to myself so i will not go for the rediculously impractical Elise). Might even get the estate/hatch style one incase i get a dog and for moving stuff around (just had to hire a Passat Estate today to move some stuff)

STi compared to my Prelude is fun.

I had a CarPC in my Prelude also and moved it to this car. Fuel it eats if you get on it, but I'm not too crazy.

The STi is easy to work on and has lots of mods. I have had the car since July 2003. I have 23K miles on it now. I like it alot, but cannot hold and bring stuff home from HomeDepot like a truck can.

Toyota Tacoma is next I think.
