Yeah, I saw it and I was just looking for the system that they used... I think it was called "Drivesoft" or something. It looked pretty neat!
according to their website i think you will be soon able to download the gui for your own carputer. gotta see who's going to try that.
I didn't see it? Which episode was it?
The one episode of pimp my ride I've seen made me want to puke. They put on a bunch of cheap visual mods and top if off with a terrible paint job (paint is supposed to be glossy, not flat). I'd be ashamed to be near the cars they make over, let alone own one.

Yeah I saw it. It was a pretty sweet carputer, especially with the 10"/12" screen they had. It was nothing that not's being done here though.
I hope it's skin-able - looks too Windows like for my tastes. IMHO MediaCar and Frodoplayer look alot cooler and are probably more functional for those that want to customize.
I wonder how good the GPS is tho.

Looks like they want $50 for the Lite version:

this is cool tho:
"The Drivesoft Systemä will also offer a broad range of customized features to meet the needs of specialty options. The Drivesoft Systemä is able to offer specialty options for add on features such as Radar Detectors, Mobile Alarm Systems, Car Camera Systems, Sound Competition Systems, Auxiliary Controllers and much more."
I wonder how they integrated the Radar Detector - or maybe it is just an add-on which is not integrated.
Anyone know the specs and price on this thing? They have a PDF but the link is dead.

Am I the only person who gets 404's on nearly half the pages on that site? Doesn't inspire confidence that it's a decent system when they cant even make a website display.![]()
