    Web Programmers: Online ISBN database?

I need to have a web interface to a complete ISBN database for a school project. We want to enter an ISBN and retrieve Author, Title, and year published. I have found http://isbndb.com , but it doesnt fully work yet.

We need a full database because our instructor is being a jackass and will bring a random book for us to do a search on during the final presentation, so we can't just have a small DB with a few entries that we already know.

    Grad School sucks.

I can't think of much i've run into that would be more helpful. Let me know what your results are! I need to deal with some 8500 books arround september.

Once you do figure it out, get yourself a bar code reader. extra credit . The cue cat from radio shak would be nice to support (its free) but I didn't have any luck figuring out how to decode what's coming off the device. others seem to have better luck. If you plug it into a linux box and scan some barcode, it spits out garbel i couldn't for the life of me decode.

    Best of luck.

One of the other guys in on the project found an SDK for Amazon.com Methinks it might work, but I havent really had time to play with it.

amazon would probably be your best bet..... you can search for the ASIN which in the case of Books is the book's ISBN.... google for +amazon +aws +language_here there are pleanty of examples

I would use the Library of Congress. Slightly bigger selection than Amazon and simpler HTML to parse information out of.
