Also, GPS is good on a planet, by the reach of GPS sats... "global positionning system" - the more sat the more precise... if you are in space, you use stellar navigation and starmaps/charts.

your all wrong, by that time we will have programmed navigational systems for automated travel. Therefore instead of "turn left at one light year" it will be like "now preparing reaction chamber for antimatter annihilation" and then we sleep for a year..
and never wake up ever again...
