    Fawkin EvilBay shipping !!!!!!!

I have figured out what these people do on ebay...

Buy lots of little trinkets... their cost $5
    double it to $10
to ship anywhere is another $2 ( small trinket )

set shipping in the auction for $17.. so any winning bid of $.01 is a proffit above and beyond the initial 100% markup... ( no combined shipping costs )

trying to get 3 or 4 USB Bluetooth dongles from a local place for a couple bucks a piece will run into the hundreds..... maybe, I'll just knock on their door, if they have one..

    So I would rather pay a site $30 for a $10 dongle ( $28 + $2 ship ) than ebay $30 for a $10 dongle ( $2 + $28 ship )

anyway, just ranting .... never mind me

yes everyone does it......i do it, if you sold things you'd probably do it too.

It's really to cover the jacked up costs of Ebay and Paypal fees.

All you can do is research the shipping of things before you buy them and realize that you are agreeing to that shipping cost when you enter a bid.

Welcome to the real world, Don.
Check ebay's fees and you will see that they don't charge fees on shipping amounts, and listing fees are low when an auction starts at a penny and has no reserve.
Any item sold, regardless of the price will require a seller to mark the item up 18% minimum to cover all fees involved, and show a very small profit. To circumvent this need, shipping gets jacked.

Also, this is hardly specific to eBay. Most of the stores listed on pricewatch.com used to do this so they would show as having the lowest price, then they'd make up for it on shipping. Just be smart and actually read the terms next time, you'll never have the problem again if you use your eyes.

Newegg plays the shipping fee game too, which only makes it more difficult to find what I need.

    Yet another EBay problem now...

Got a Ericsson T637 for like $210 ship-$12... Seller had positive feedback and buyer protection etc...

well, did the buy it now thing and paid for it...

now I get a e-mail from e-bay saying that auction is no longer there and user has been terminated....
There was buyer protection, so I should get $$ back.
still waiting to hear back from user to see if actually legitimate .

    this just sucks....

i like the new seller tactic of putting "low shipping, don't get scammed on shipping" but they have a buy it now for a jacked up product cost

How so? They clearly post each item's shipping cost with the item, and a lot of them ship free, or for 99 cents.
I have never felt like they charge too much to ship.
